Use of one of two Navy jets to fly to Ft. Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. The NMPS staff were standing at attention as we hit the run way, which was very touching. The Chief gave everyone a hug good-bye and wished us luck and safe return. The staff was very helpful in getting us ready to go to the next stage of our journey.

Hi Kevin!

That is really great that you are able to post pictures. I am sure you will be able to send many neat ones.

We went to Lincoln today. Your Dad worked on Kelli's brakes and has them in pretty good shape. The back ones will be needing more attention a little later. He will probably bring the car down here to do that work.

Veronica had been busy in the yard, but we kept her from getting back to it. She helped your Dad with the brake check. Katie and I had a nice visit. She told me all about her classes and the things she has been doing. It is nice that she is having a cooking and baking class. She will do great with both. Amber played the violin for me. She does such a nice job with it. She says she really enjoys it. But, she talked about playing an instrument in the band next year, too.

We stopped at CVS Drug Store and got some very nice plants. I was able to get one almost like what you gave me last year that I had on the table on the front step. So tomorrow I need to play gardener. This will be a "new twist", so will need to see how my new knee functions.

Have a great Sunday!

Love,
Mom and Dad

Yes, this week i am going to try and get someone to take a few photos of me in my gear and some of the activities we are going to do this week and post them on here. I have several from the plane ride that I have not put on here yet. One has a US sub coming into port at San Diego. Another has several large satilite dishes. I will try and put them on later this week. Keep up the great work Kelli I know Mom will like that you are helping around the house. Sorry I missed you this morning when I called home. You and the girls had just left. I am so proud of my girls and what they are able to do. When I get home they are going to be such grown up little ladies. You girls are the greatest that a dad like me could ever ask for, thanks.
