Tuesday 24APR07
Wow! That full battle gear will take awhile to get use to. I got very hot and it was hard to get use to it on my shoulders all the time, but other than that I did not feel too bad. We did pt 5:40am then did breakfast, lunch, dinner and learned about first aid to downed shipmates to give them first line first aid to get them by until the medics can attend to them. There was even full battle gear and weapons used in some convoy training today using vehecles. Things went very well for our group. We are learning a lot of things in a short time. Like the instuctors say, they got to learn this in peaceful times, we are learning it to use in war times. This information is very important to keep us all safe and those around us. I am a little tired, but doing good.

Sounds like you don't have a lot of time for relaxation. It is still cloudy and chilly here, with a few sprinkles of rain once in a while. Dad's cordless mower broke down, so had to borrow Lyle's mower on Monday to mow our hayfield. The parts for the mower came today, so now Dad can get it together again. We haven't been doing much around here because of the rain and chilly temps. We have a lot of yardwork, but that has to wait. Trees and shrubs don't look the best because of the frost. Hope they come out of it.
